The CUNA Operations Sales & Service Council (OpSS) is built around the democratic process of elected leadership. To that end, the current executive committee is pleased to announce the Council's call for nominations for seats on the executive committee.

There are three executive committee seats up for election. All seats will be elected to three-year terms.

The nominating committee, led by executive committee member, Debbie Baumann from Mazuma CU will evaluate and present recommended candidates to the membership for democratic election. In accordance with OpSS bylaws, the committee will present a slate of candidates that exceeds the number of vacancies and presents as geographically and professionally balanced a roster as possible.

To qualify for a seat on the executive committee, candidates must:

• be a current OpSS member in good standing;
• be willing and able to serve a three-year term;
• be willing and able to attend a minimum of two executive committee meetings annually;
• be willing and able to spend at least 50 hours or more per year on volunteer OpSS work; and
• have the support of his or her employer to fully participate in required OpSS Executive Committee requirements.

Position descriptions outlining responsibilities will be sent to all eligible candidates.

Candidates interested in serving on the Executive Committee should submit an electronic file with the following:

• a letter of interest which includes your credit union's asset size, number of members and the number of years you've worked in the credit union industry;
• a current resume; and
• a 100-word campaign statement

All information should be sent to Debbie at debbie.baumann@mazuma.org no later than July 14, 2010. The election will be conducted on-line beginning July 22, 2010 and will continue through August 5, 2010. The newly elected members will take his/her executive committee seat at the conclusion of the 13th annual CUNA OpSS Council Conference, September 29 – October 2, 2010 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.
