Candidate Statements

Gary Densberger, Member Center Manager, CEFCU, Peoria, Illinois
Assets: $4.1 Billion, Members: 263,000

I have worked for CEFCU for 30 years. During this time, I have managed 11 different branches, built five new branches, opened offices in new markets, and managed branches acquired during mergers.

I also serve as a City Council member in my community and have a unique understanding of the relevance of community service from a business perspective as well as a public servant. The relationship between credit unions and the communities we serve is extremely important.

It is my goal to share this experience with you as a member of the Executive Committee so that our council can provide you with the tools you need to operate your credit union in these ever-changing times.

Patsy Gayda, Director of Branch Operations, Spokane Teachers CU, Spokane, Washington
Assets: $1.2 Billion, Members: 80,000

With each generation — and each new era of business and technology development — the credit union industry has found innovative ways to fulfill its mission of “people helping people.”

I believe we are on the cusp of another generation of change to meet the needs of members demanding higher security, greater integrity, remarkable service, and creative thinking. The credit union industry will be remapping its mission to respond to regulators, while staying ahead of competitors during the nation's economic recovery.

I look forward to being part of these exciting changes, drawing on two decades of credit union leadership to faithfully uphold the responsibilities of the CUNA OpSS Executive Committee.

I'm Patsy Gayda and I'm grateful for your support.

Robb Keith, SVP Retail Services, Members 1st FCU, Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania
Assets: $1.7 Billion, Members 153,000

I am honored that the Nominating Committee would give me consideration for such an important position to represent the esteemed group of volunteers and friends within the Council. As a member of the Council's Conference Committee I have recently participated in the planning of the 2009 Conference, and have also served on the Membership Committee. If elected to the Executive Committee, I believe that I would be able to give insight and positive leadership to the Council in this position, based on my experience and interpersonal and team-building skills. I wish this committee strength and success as you arrive at challenging decisions for qualified candidates, and thank you for your consideration.

Steve Langley, VP Sales, Service & Training, Travis CU, Vacaville, California
Assets $1.6 Billion, Members 158,000

I respectfully request your consideration for a position on the Executive Committee on the OpSS Council. I'm confident that my extensive background in both operations and sales & service will bring value to this dynamic team. As ‘Sales & Service Champion' for my organization, I coach, mentor and guide our leaders towards success in improving our member's financial lives. I have been involved in many credit union industry activities in my career to include service as Past-President of our local CU League Chapter. I often volunteer my services as a public speaker at many industry related events including several OpSS Conferences.

Thank you for this opportunity and I look forward to serving you in the future!

Tina McMinn, VP Operations, Stanford FCU, Palo Alto, California
Assets $1.0 Billion, Members 46,000

Having worked in Mississippi, Tennessee and California for small, medium and large sized credit unions, I would bring a variety of experiences to the Executive Committee. Currently I'm managing Training, Branch Operations, Facilities and Business Deposit Product Management at Stanford FCU.

I have participated in the Council's conference committee for the last four years and have enjoyed assisting the team in planning a conference that meets the needs of operations, sales and service oriented credit union professionals. I am a die hard fan of the credit union movement and would welcome the opportunity to represent our membership as part of the Executive Committee to help address challenges to credit unions and provide resources/solutions when possible.

Dave Tate, VP Branch Operations, Anheuser-Busch ECU, St. Louis, Missouri
Assets $1.2 Billion, Members 97,000

I have worked at ABECU for over 28 years and always in the Operations area. As we grew in assets and branches my focus has been on improving the financial status of our members. I played a key role in creating new departments, moving branch locations, beginning our Sales & Service Culture and implementing new products and services.

I've found the council to be a tremendous resource for all Operations Professionals regardless of their expertise. My involvement on the Membership Committee has been extremely rewarding. I feel that participating on the Executive Committee is an excellent opportunity to fulfill that goal. I am excited at the opportunity to share my knowledge and experience in an effort to the further the mission of the OpSS Council.
